SEATTLE RIFLE & PISTOL ASSOCIATION RANGE RULES 1. No shooting on the range before 9:30 am, and no later than time posted at the front gate. (Time posted will be 1 hour before sunset, but no later than 7:00 pm except for Board of Directors sanctioned events)
2. Range Officer rank in the following order: A. Senior Club Officer present B. Committee Chairperson present C. Senior Board Member present D. Senior Club Member present
3. It is the responsibility of any member on the range to see all Range Rules are followed, and be responsible for enforcing these rules and acting as Range Officer in the absence of above.
4. The Range Officer’s decision is final.
5. Members shall wear their club provided membership cards as a badge when on club property or pay range fees. The only time this requirement does not apply is during organized competitions open to the public.
6. Junior members must be accompanied by a parent who is also a member with a valid membership card. A key is not proof of membership.
7. Guests shall pay range fees of $5.00, and $1.00 for each extra rifle or pistol. Members are responsible for their guests and the collection of all range fees associated with their guests. Send fees to the club treasurer: SR&PA at 13822 Meridian St., Lake Stevens, WA 98258.
8. No small children shall be allowed on the firing line.
9. Use approved hearing and eye protection.
10. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the range. No horses or motorbikes allowed on the range.
11. Always be sure barrel and action are free of obstructions, and ammunition is the proper size.
12. Bolts shall not be closed until the muzzle is pointed at the top of the target or below.
13. Shoot only approved targets while on target carriers. Cans, bottles, rocks, wood, man-shaped silhouettes or pictures are prohibited as targets.
14. Fire only from the established firing lines. All rounds must impact in the butts. There are no deviations or exceptions.
15. Load only on the firing line when no one is down range. Rifles shall be single loaded only, with the following exception: Rapid-fire strings may be fired with the Range Officer’s approval only, and slings must be used during rapid-fire strings (Rifles).
16. If the order to “cease-fire” is given, do so immediately. All guns shall be emptied of ammunition; the actions opened or blocked open, and placed on the bench before anyone goes down range. Do not handle firearms or shoot until the “commence fire” order is given.
17. Use of 50 BMG ammunition is prohibited on any range.
18. Fully automatic weapons, fully automatic fire, and simulated fully automatic fire are prohibited for rifle or pistol.
19. Obstacle course type pistol or quick draw shooting is prohibited.
20. Shotguns shall be fired on the Shotgun Range with the exception of slug shooting at proper targets on the Rifle Range.
21. Police your firing point. If you bring it, you take it home.
22. Use of rifle ammunition is prohibited on the pistol range. Pistol cartridges allowed only on the pistol range.
23. Your membership or guest privileges may be terminated for violations of any of the above rules, or any common-sense safety rules whether posted or not.
Any deviation from these rules must be previously authorized by the Board of Directors.
