500 Yard Open Shooting (Members Only)

We are holding an informal 500 yard shoot on 3 October 2026 at 0930.  This is not a match.  It’s informal like general shooting on the 100/200 yard rifle range.  The only requirements are:

• Your choice of rifle and ammo must produce supersonic bullet velocity at 500 yards or the shots won’t register.
• Be zeroed at 100 or 200 yards.  From there, it’s straightforward to readjust your elevation to be on paper at 500 yards.
• Show up!

This is a free event for club members.  We have 10 prone and 4 bench positions.  There’s plenty of room for everybody. 

Parking is West of the yellow chain barrier and sign.  Do not go past the barrier.  The 100/200 yard rifle and pistol range is closed for this event.

IMPORTANT:  We are moving away from pre-qualification on the 200 meter gongs.  It’s the member’s responsibility to be zeroed at 100 or 200 yards.  Spotting misses at 500 yards isn’t easy and electronic target damage is expensive to repair.
